Red death

I'm baaaackkkkk! You know you missed me!

Now that is a shopping cart!

So, I had a great weekend. We surprised Ruth's man on the way there, we called and said we got off on the turnpike, which would have put us at least 3 hours behind. In all actuality we were ahead of schedule. He was very surprised, and she was very happy. They have a very good relationship! Ladies take notes from this woman, she knows how to make it happen.

We stayed at Andy's friend's house Friday night, had a few beverages, and hung out in the pool for several hours. Much fun, good times! Andy's friend is an aeronautical engineer (in other words a rocket scientist) we hit it off pretty good for the weekend. Was nice not to be a third wheel, though Ruth would have never let that happen. Saturday we were up at a decent time, to head out to Longboat Key. After driving again, we found ourselves on the beach.

While we waited in the parking lot for the rocket scientist to check in (it was his condo,) and I felt, all of the sudden, rather ill, coughing, sneezing, burning eyes. I thought it was just me, but the others started it too. Chris, the rocket scientist, came back with great news. It was red tide, which I called red death all weekend... It killed all the fishies, and it stank to high hell, which put a bit of a damper on the afternoon, but we were determined not to let it ruin our trip, just no beach.

SO, we drank, played shuffle board, swam, watched the gator game. Oh the gator game, It was awesome! We totally stomped Kentucky! At the end of the second half we had them 49-7... we played our second string for the entire second half, and still had almost double the points. For dinner we grilled out steaks, I made baked potatoes, and we ate outside. The red death was beginning to subside. I think we spent a majority of the time in the pool, cause we headed back there after dinner.

I woke up Sunday, and went out for my morning smoke, and much to my surprise, there was no more burning of the eyes or terrible smell. The coughing was gone! I strolled about 20 yards to the beach, and no new dead fish, there were people in the water. I was like hell yeah! I rounded up Ruth and we hit the beach. Then on to the pool we went, and cooked out hotdogs for lunch. All too soon, it was time to head home.

I came back, with a non-severe burn, and no hang over, so that was good! Pictures soon to follow, I promise!

I am sitting in class right now, trying my damnedest to stay awake. This class is 3 hours long, and I do so try to pay attention, but he just drones on and on, and on, and on... And on! It all runs together at the end of a long day. And I don’t get to eat before, so I go from lunch to 8 pm with no food, and if you know me, you are cringing, if not, let me warn you. I get slightly edgy when I get hungry. Not really bad, but noticeable. But I am whining so I shall stop!

Okay, I had better pay attention! Only one hour to go, I can do it.... I think I can... stomach is eating me from the inside... must pay attention... I wonder if the people around me can hear it growling, if so I should apologize.... or not.
